The Roasterie, The Minglement and The Coffee Museum are housed in this charming, nearly 100-year-old building constructed from old growth Island fir. Upon stepping through the doors of this famous, Historic Roasterie you become a part of the history of specialty coffee beginnings here in America. Inside there are plenty of coffee antiques that make up the museum as well as good music, local art, friendly artists and the scent of fresh coffee being roasted and prepared. The building is also home to Specialty Coffee and Fair Trade pioneer, Jim Stewart’s original coffee company, The Wet Whisker, which eventually became Seattle’s Best Coffee.

In 2007, the Wayward Son celebrated 25 years of being in business. Owner, Sandy Wainwright, doesn't merely sell diamonds and other fine jewelry, she designs it. Her design inspiration comes from the stones -- along with her passion for the antique, the 1700s and the jewelry of Rene Lalique. Her gold work is beautifully transformed into pendants, rings, earrings and other combination pieces.
The Wayward Son also offers fine candies and handmade confections from around the world.
